Village Information System allows users to view and download readymade or user-generated thematic maps from the 1991 and 2001 censuses of India.

Users can create maps using any combination of 125 parameters, or view any of 32 district-level readymade maps. All are downloadable as PDF's.

This pilot project uses Uttarakhand State as a model. We hope to extend this service to include all India.
